Beauty Box 5 Review!

10/31/2013

Happy Halloween everyone! If you guys read my last beauty post then you know that Beauty Box 5 offered to send me one of their boxes to review! I was super excited when it arrived last week and have been enjoying trying out the products so that I could give my honest opinion on the value of the box. I found Beauty Box 5 when I was researching box subscriptions and trying to find one that was around $10 - $15/month and that came with a variety of products. A monthly reoccurring subscription to Beauty Box 5 is $12 per month and comes with five samples in each box. Samples range from full-size to sample size and could be luxury products, drugstore brands, or even vegan products!

Pros:
Inexpensive and fun way to test products before you buy them
Value of the box meets or exceeds the cost
Exposed to new products you may not have otherwise tried
The joy of opening your mailbox and finding an adorable box filled with goodies each month instead of just bills and junk mail!
Free shipping

Cons:
1. You may get something you do not like but you could always gift that item to someone else. Occasionally I buy full-sized products because I hear good things about them, and then I do not like them. This way, if you do not like something it is not a big loss. So I guess this is sort of a pro and a con.
2. Some other beauty box brands give you access online to take style quizzes to allow for a more personalized box or even allow you to choose your products. If you love surprises though, Beauty Box 5 is wonderful!

You can see my opened beauty box in the image above. It came with a sample of Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion, Travel-lite Facial Cleansing Wipes (took them with me on a camping trip and they definitely came in handy), Nubar nail polish (clear with gold glitter), toe separators (do those things have an actual name??), and a full-sized Illusion lip pencil from ModelCo. The lip pencil came in a nude color that looks very natural on my lip and gives very subtle definition. I never used lip liners in the past but I have actually been using this one and I really like it! Also, the lip pencil has a built-in sharpener and cost $20 on the ModelCo website! The box pays for itself and more with this product alone!

I have used everything in my box and can honestly say that I loved everything and that it is a great value!
I would recommend trying it out for at least a few months to see if you like it.
